- 3D Numerical Analysis of A Complex Excavation in Urban Area
Zhandos Orazalin is currently a PhD Candidate at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT. His PhD research is focused on the analysis of offshore large-deformation geotechnical problems considering laterally loaded piles under tension. For his Master of Science (SM) degree at MIT, Zhandos worked on the 3D finite element analysis of a complex excavation project in an urban area. For this work, he won the Geotechnical Master Thesis Competition 2013 sponsored by Plaxis.
